Understanding the Student Interdisciplinary Journey Management System (SIJMS)
The Student Interdisciplinary Journey Management System (SIJMS) is designed to support and model how interdisciplinary education pathways are conceptualized, managed, and experienced by students at Ahmedabad University and worldwide.
While higher education institutions are evolving toward information-driven and evidence-based curricula, students often face challenges navigating complex course requirements to reach their graduation goals. SIJMS bridges this gap by providing data-driven recommendations, clear course prerequisites, and transparent academic mapping.

SRS & Stakeholder Co-Design
Extract, document, and specify system requirements (SRS) through cross-disciplinary workshops involving students, faculty, CDC, and admissions officers.
System Co-Design
Co-design the SIJMS platform through iterative consultations to ensure it effectively resolves identified academic and advising needs.
Prototype & DBR Refinement
Develop working prototypes, validate modules with stakeholders, and refine SIJMS using Design-Based Research (DBR) methodology.
EdTech Portal Integration
Integrate SIJMS into LMS and Ahmedabad University's AURIS portal for long-term sustainability, reusability, and cross-institution adoption.
AIED & TEL Research
Address pressing open research questions in AI in Education (AIED) and Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL&T) from a system design perspective.
